5 Direct Mail Ideas
Direct Mail as a marketing avenue is still relevant and useful in today’s technology driven society. Sometimes this ‘old school’ method can have a greater impact than email marketing strategies, because…you can’t unsubscribe from them.
1. Tracking Results
Use a special offer code that people must use to redeem the offer. You’ll be able to track the effectiveness of the campaign by who redeemed the coupon code.
2. Helpful Tips
Mix things up by creating a postcard piece that contains helpful tips that the consumer would want to keep handy. You can provide helpful tips related to your industry (ex. Car winterization/home winterization tips). Make sure to prominently display your branding and contact information!
3. Recipe Postcards
Recipe postcard mailers are always a great hit with consumers. Who wouldn’t enjoy receiving food inspiration for tonight’s dinner in the mail? Pull out that not so secret recipe from grandma and share with your consumer base.
4. Freebies
Get them in the door by offering a freebie that can only be redeemed by visiting your store/business. Like most freebies, those that redeem the gift, may make a purchase that’s worth more than the gift you gave them!
5. Calendars
Everyone needs a calendar! Send your consumers calendars for the year, school and sports calendars for their geographic location. If your budget allows for it, you can get really creative and send special calendars with cut-out shapes and pop-ups.
